What’s new for 2024?

It’s been an amazing year at Moonee Valley Gymnastics Club. We’ve loved seeing our gymnasts progress their skills and have fun in their gymnastics journey. Luckily, there’s still so much more to look forward to. As 2023 draws to a close, we’re thrilled to reveal what’s coming up in 2024.

From themed weeks and competitions to our annual Display Day – there’s plenty to get excited about. We’ll even be introducing a brand-new tumble track to keep our gymnasts challenged, as well as new club merchandise including hoodies and t-shirts. Plus, we’ll be making some changes to our class names and introducing some brand-new classes!

2024 enrolment

Our last class is on 21 December and we will be returning on 15 January. Please note that if you have not cancelled, you are automatically enrolled for 2024. If your child has had a class time change, we'll contact you about this arrangement shortly.

Key dates for 2024

In 2024, we will be staying open throughout the year and will only close on public holidays. We understand that this may be inconvenient for some parents, so we will be changing our make-up policy from four to six classes a year. To access these make-up lessons, you need to register your child's absence on the customer portal two hours before their class. 

Class name changes and new classes

In 2024, we're making some changes to the names of our gymnastics classes.

• Gym Fun will become Gym Safe.
• Gym Skills Intermediate and Advanced will become Gym Skills 2 and Gym Skills 3.

We're also excited to announce the launch of Teen Gym and the relaunch of Gym4 All!

Teen Gym is a two hour class designed for children aged 12 years and above. This class will be more student-led, allowing students to decide what they want to learn. Students will then create a plan with their coach on how they will achieve their goals. 

Gym4All is a 55 minute class for nine to 12 year olds who are either new to gymnastics or want to refine their skills before progressing to Gym Skills 2.

Gym Star updates

A lot of exciting changes are happening for our little athletes! Before we get into those updates, let's reflect on what an amazing year 2023 was for our Gym Star gymnasts.

2023 was the first year our Gym Star gymnasts competed since 2019. We saw their confidence improve by leaps and bounds – both in their personality and delivery of skills. Our gymnasts also became highly motivated by each competition and worked extremely hard to continually improve. Plus, our gymnasts had a positive attitude and were excited to compete again after each competition. 

Gym Star class name changes

First up, we are simplifying the names of our Gym Star classes. In 2024, they will be named by their level.

Gym Star Junior, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced will become Gym Star 2, Gym Star 3, Gym Star 4, Gym Star 5, 6 and Gym Star 6, 7.

Gym Star training hour changes

• Gym Star 2 classes will train for 1 hour and 25 minutes once a week
• Gym Star 3 classes will train for 1 hour and 25 minutes twice a week
• Gym Star 4 classes will train for 1 hour and 55 minutes twice a week
• Gym Star 5, 6 & 7 classes will train for 2 hours and 25 minutes twice a week

• Gym Star 3: Monday 4pm – 5.25pm Wednesday 4pm – 5.25pm
• Gym Star 4: Tuesday 5pm – 6.55pm Thursday 5pm – 6.55pm
